Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common salivary gland tumor; it occurs mainly in the parotid gland, most frequently in the superficial lobe as a solitary asymptomatic slowly growing mass. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice, but the extent of resection varies from enucleation to total parotidectomy. With appropriate treatment the prognosis is excellent. We present a case of pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland treated by superficial parotidectomy.

Key words: Pleomorphic adenoma, parotid gland, superficial parotidectomy.
