Cierre percutáneo de la orejuela izquierda en la fibrilación auricular no valvular

RESUMEN

A pesar que la fibrilación auricular no valvular (FANV) es una de las enfermedades más frecuente en nuestra sociedad su prevalencia va a aumentar en los próximos años por el envejecimiento progresivo de la población. El cierre percutáneo de la orejuela izquierda (OI) constituye una alternativa para enfermos con FANV y contraindicación al tratamiento con anticoagulante. El cierre de orejuela es un procedimiento seguro y eficaz. El cierre de OI podría ser en el futuro una alternativa al tratamiento con anticoagulantes orales (ACO) para todos los pacientes con FANV. Presentamos un paciente con contraindicación a los ACO a la cual se le implantó un dispositivo de cierre Watchman con una evolución favorable a los cuatros años del procedimiento.
