Consenso mexicano sobre educación terapéutica para el paciente con dermatitis atópica

RESUMEN

Introducción: la dermatitis atópica (DA) es una dermatosis inflamatoria crónica multifactorial muy frecuente. La educación terapéutica del paciente (ETP) es un proceso centrado en éste, e implica la transferencia de información y habilidades necesarias para manejar la enfermedad.
Objetivos: elaborar recomendaciones sobre el contenido que debe incluirse en las intervenciones de ETP para pacientes con da.
Material y métodos: se realizó un consenso de expertos utilizando metodología de panel Delphi. Se incluyeron dermatólogos pediatras con experiencia previa en el uso de ETP en da. Se estableció que se consideraría consenso de acuerdo si ≥80% de los expertos evaluaban las declaraciones en el tercil superior de una escala Likert; y se realizarían cuatro rondas, después de cada una se presentarían los resultados usando estadística descriptiva y gráficas. Las declaraciones en las que no se alcanzó consenso se evaluaron/modificaron de acuerdo con los comentarios y se utilizaron en la siguiente ronda.
Resultados: se incluyó a 16 dermatólogos/dermatólogos pediatras con experiencia previa en el uso de ETP para da. Se elaboraron 31 preguntas según la literatura existente sobre el uso de ETP en da, y en las rondas subsecuentes se evaluaron las declaraciones construidas a partir de las respuestas. Se elaboró un documento con 19 recomendaciones sobre el contenido para un programa de ETP en da.
Conclusiones: La ETP es indispensable en el manejo de pacientes con da, y debe incluir explicaciones sobre la fisiopatología, las medidas generales y cambios en el estilo de vida, así como los tratamientos existentes.
