Al Director:

Las enfermedades autoinmunes son un grupo de afecciones crónicas que presentan un amplio espectro clínico en los que factores genéticos, ambientales y hormonales contribuyen a su aparición al provocar la pérdida de la tolerancia y respuestas anormales frente a lo propio. Se caracterizan por una amplia producción de anticuerpos.
Los anticuerpos antinucleares(ANA) son inmunoglobulinas dirigidas contra estructuras del núcleo celular como el ácido desoxirribonucleico (DNA), ribonucleoproteínas, histonas y el centrómero. También pudieran ser producidos por el sistema inmunesano como un mecanismo fisiológico para eliminar los residuos nucleares expulsados por las células senescentes.
