RESUMEN

Introduction. Sex education is one of the necessary tools to build a life project; therefore, it must be available to everyone. Human beings are sexed, so sexual education should not be excluded from people who have a disability and/or special educational needs. The first link in education on this subject is the family. Objective. Systematize theoretical references related to comprehensive sexuality education for relatives of adolescents with Down Syndrome in order to improve the orientation of these families regarding the sexuality of their children. Methodology. The methods of analysis and synthesis, induction-deduction, and historical-logical, and modeling were used, all of them very useful in the study of the printed sources of information and the processing of the scientific foundations and appreciation of the numerous authors. In addition, they will provide the study of the development and evolution of the investigated problem, where most of the relatives show ignorance and concerns about various aspects of the sexuality of adolescents with Down Syndrome. Results. In most of the reviewed investigations, it was found that there is ignorance, erroneous manifestations and beliefs regarding sexuality in disabled people. Conclusions. It can be said that comprehensive sexuality education at home is still not being implemented as it should be so that learning about it can be seen as something natural and not as a taboo subject. Interventions are needed in this regard.
