La importancia del estudio de la sustancia activa de la cúrcuma se debe a que es objetivo de numerosos estudios por sus efectos sobre la infección del virus del papiloma humano y diversos tipos de cáncer. Resulta necesaria la divulgación de esta información, ya que la curcumina se ha demostrado como un agente prometedor para prevenir y complementar el tratamiento de cáncer cervical relacionado al virus del papiloma humano (VPH).
