INTRODUCCIÓN
En la neuroanestesia moderna, la monitorización
invasiva es considerada un pilar
fundamental de la práctica médica. Los catéteres
arteriales, los accesos venosos centrales, los
monitores de presión intracraneal y de saturación
de oxígeno cerebral permiten una evaluación
fisiológica continua, facilitan las intervenciones
terapéuticas y proporcionan estimaciones indirectas
de la perfusión y la homeostasis.
Sin embargo, el uso generalizado de estas
modalidades ha pasado progresivamente de una
práctica basada en indicaciones a una implementación
rutinaria, a menudo sin literatura robusta
de una mejora en los resultados centrados en el
paciente.
