INTRODUCCIÓN
La anafilaxia es una reacción de hipersensibilidad
sistémica grave secundaria a la
exposición a sustancias ajenas al organismo
(xenobióticos), de inicio rápido y con compromiso
respiratorio y circulatorio potencialmente
mortal, generalmente asociada a manifestaciones
cutáneas y mucosas. Estas manifestaciones
clínicas suelen ser evidentes cuando el paciente
se encuentra despierto. El prurito, el eritema
o la disnea orientan al diagnóstico de manera
inmediata. Pero, ¿qué ocurre cuando el paciente
está anestesiado o en soporte ventilatorio? ¿cómo
identificar un evento potencialmente mortal en
un paciente que no puede expresarlo?
En el entorno perioperatorio, la anafilaxia se
manifiesta como alteraciones fisiológicas que
pueden confundirse con efectos de la anestesia,
por lo que su diagnóstico depende de la interpretación
clínica en tiempo real. En pediatría,
es un proceso de rápida evolución que deja señales
antes del colapso y exige reconocimiento
temprano.
