Artroplastía unicompartimental de la rodilla. Evaluación clínica en un período de 10 años

RESUMEN

Objetivo. Evaluar la prótesis unicompartimental de la rodilla. Material y métodos. Se presenta una serie retrospectiva de 22 pacientes (24 rodillas) de 25 que se operaron en el período de 1990-1999, a quienes se les colocó prótesis parcial de St. Georg, por deformidad angular y artrosis unicompartimental. Los tres restantes abandonaron. Resultados. La valoración funcional postoperatoria que establece la Knee Society mostró de 85 a 100 puntos en todos los casos, de los cuales 75% estaba arriba de 90 puntos. Hubo dolor esporádico en 12 casos (54%), sobre todo con el uso de escaleras. La flexión fue de 100 a 110°; 66% no requirió ninguna ayuda de marcha y ningún paciente tuvo que ser sometido a cirugía de revisión. Conclusión. Es importante aplicar los criterios aceptados para indicar ya sea osteotomía tibial o prótesis parcial, siendo esta última recomendable para casos de mayor edad, no obesos, con mayor artrosis unilateral y con actividad física reducida.
