RESUMEN

Los hemangiomas representan el cuarto tumor más común de la mano, después de los gangliones, el tumor de células gigantes de la vaina tendinosa y los quistes mucosos. El músculo esquelético es uno de los tejidos más afectados por esta neoplasia. El 90% de los hemangiomas intramusculares se presentan en menores de 30 años. En el miembro torácico pueden asociarse a compresiones nerviosas; pueden involucrar el nervio mediano, provocando un síndrome de túnel del carpo, o el nervio cubital en el codo o en el canal de Guyon. Se informa sobre 10 pacientes con hemangioma cavernoso en antebrazo y mano; fueron recabados en estudio retrospectivo y descriptivo en el que se analizó un periodo de 22 años. Se discute el diagnóstico y tratamiento. Se ejemplifica la historia de un caso. Se revisa la clasificación de la lesión del nervio mediano y del nervio cubital secundaria a invasión por tumor.
