Prevalencia de Helicobacter pylori y de los genotipos vacA y cagA en la saliva de pacientes con gastritis

RESUMEN
El propósito de este estudio fue establecer la prevalencia de
Helicobacter pylori y de los genotipos citotóxicos
vacA y
cagA en la cavidad oral de pacientes con gastritis crónica (n = 102).
H. pylori fue detectado en la saliva de los pacientes por PCR anidado y las variantes alélicas del gen
vacA y del gen
cagA por PCR multiplex. Los anticuerpos IgG contra
H. pylori fueron medidos por un método inmunoenzimático. El suero de 76 pacientes (74%) fue positivo para anticuerpos IgG contra
H. pylori, y la bacteria fue detectada por PCR anidada en 60 de ellos. Los genotipos
vacA y
cagA fueron detectados en el 45% (n = 27) de los pacientes positivos para
H. pylori; 10%
vacA m2 (n = 6); 8.3%
vacA s1 (n = 5); 6.6%
vacA s2/
cagA (n = 4); 6.6%
vacA s2 (n = 4) y 6.6%
vacA m1 (n = 4). Los resultados mostraron que
H. pylori se encuentra en la cavidad oral, y que ésta puede ser un reservorio para la transmisión oral-oral de esta bacteria.
