RESUMEN

El ventrículo derecho es una cámara estructural y funcionalmente compleja cuya importancia fue subestimada en el pasado. Diversos estudios experimentales y clínicos han mostrado la particularidad del funcionamiento del ventrículo derecho en condiciones normales y patológicas y se enfatiza su papel como indicador pronóstico. Los métodos de estudio no invasivos han mostrado su utilidad en el diagnóstico y estratificación de diferentes circunstancias clínicas que afectan al ventrículo derecho.
