FRAGMENTO

La discrepancia o desigualdad en la longitud de las extremidades, sobre todo en las inferiores, es un problema ortopédico con repercusiones mecánicas, estéticas y sicológicas, por lo que desde épocas ancestrales se ha tratado de compensar de muy diversas formas. En un principio sólo con ortesis, por lo general de madera, o con arreglos al calzado; posteriormente con sofisticados procedimientos quirúrgicos.
