Complicaciones de elongación y transportación ósea

FRAGMENTO

El tratamiento de problemas como discrepancias de longitud de las extremidades inferiores, estatura corta o enanismo, defectos óseos o faltantes de hueso por diferentes etiologías (tumores, necrosis postraumática, osteomielitis e infecciones óseas severas, seudoartrosis de fémur o tibia, etcétera) mediante elongación o transportación ósea con el método Ilizarov, está siendo aplicado ampliamente en todo el mundo (Figura 1). Este método requiere de un periodo prolongado para su aplicación y el cirujano puede enfrentar muchos problemas o compilaciones que afectan negativamente el resultado final.
