Granuloma de tórax secundario a metilmetacrilato. Reporte de caso

RESUMEN

Se presenta el caso de un paciente con el antecedente de lesión masiva de hemitórax izquierdo por aplastamiento en 1985, desconoce el manejo exacto de dicha lesión. Después de 20 años presenta fístula torácica con cultivo positivo para Enterococcus faecalis y Staphylococcus epidermidis, es referido por el Servicio de Cirugía de Tórax como una osteomielitis costal posterior a complementar estudios de imagenología (radiografías simples, TAC y RM). Es intervenido por nuestro servicio donde se encuentra reacción granulomatosa secundaria a cuerpo extraño (metilmetacrilato y ethibon). La reconstrucción de tórax en lesiones masivas puede ser realizada con metilmetacrilato; en los estudios de imagen existe una dificultad conocida para la identificación de este material, ya que puede generar señales y densidades muy difíciles de interpretar por médicos especializados.
