Artroscopía en prótesis total de rodilla complicada con sospecha de infección y aflojamiento del «inserto tibial» de polipropileno. Presentación de caso y revisión de la literatura

RESUMEN

Se presenta un caso de un paciente con prótesis total de rodilla (PTR) complicada por dolor, disminución de la movilidad y fiebre a las 8 semanas de operado. Con sospecha de infección y se enfatiza la incapacidad de los medios actuales para diferenciarla de un aflojamiento «aséptico». Se resuelve el problema diagnóstico de certeza llevando a cabo una artroscopía con biopsia. Se revisa la literatura reciente, concluyendo en la bondad y efectividad del procedimiento artroscópico en las complicaciones de la PTR.
