Factores de riesgo asociados a neuropatía diabética dolorosa

RESUMEN

Se ha considerado a la diabetes mellitus (DM) un problema de salud pública, asociado a daño de diversos órganos y dolor secundario a polineuropatía. Objetivo: Identificar los factores de riesgo asociados al desarrollo de neuropatía diabética dolorosa (NDD). Método: En forma retrospectiva, descriptiva y comparativa, se estudiaron a 87 pacientes, divididos en 2 grupos: a) enfermos con neuropatía diabética dolorosa (NDD) y b) pacientes con neuropatía diabética no dolorosa NDND. Resultados: Se encontró una prevalencia de NDD mayor que de NDND; diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre grupos respecto a la glicemia, hemoglobina glicosilada y años de evolución de la diabetes, mayor frecuencia de NDD en el sexo femenino, una aparición más temprana a lo reportado y comorbilidades del tipo de la hipertensión arterial, dislipidemias y trastornos del sueño.
