Tumor glomus en la mano

RESUMEN

Antecedentes: Los tumores tipo glomus son tumores benignos de las falanges de la mano. Su localización más frecuente es en el lecho ungueal. El diagnóstico requiere cierto índice de sospecha y normalmente es clínico. El manejo recomendado es quirúrgico. Material y métodos: Se revisaron archivos clínicos de Junio 1978 a Mayo del 2010 de pacientes con glomus de la mano y se analizaron las características del manejo. Resultados: Se encontraron 12 pacientes con tumor tipo glomus de los cuales 4 eran mujeres y 8 hombres con edades entre 31 y 55 años. La falange distal y el meñique fueron los más afectados. El diagnóstico fue clínico en su mayoría y el tratamiento quirúrgico en todos los casos. El seguimiento promedio fue 8 años. Conclusiones: El tumor tipo glomus es una lesión frecuente de la falange distal con características clínicas y patológicas particulares que el cirujano ortopedista debe de conocer para determinar su manejo.
