RESUMEN

Después de la introducción de la reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) en 1960, los cursos de adiestramiento se proporcionaron primero al personal médico y después al público en general. El entrenamiento en RCP tiene como objetivo reducir la morbilidad y mortalidad que están relacionados con la calidad de la enseñanza. Las guías para instructores son útiles para uniformar los conceptos, criterios y técnicas de educación para optimizar el cuidado de las víctimas de paro cardiaco. El adiestramiento con videocintas, audiocintas y programas de cómputo especiales tienen mayor efectividad en comparación con los cursos tradicionales. Los anuncios repetitivos por televisión, películas e información obtenida a través de Internet son herramientas útiles para incrementar los conocimientos y habilidades en las maniobras de apoyo básico de la vida.
