Remplazo total de la articulación temporomandibular con prótesis de tipo stock, una alternativa real de tratamiento

RESUMEN

Este articulo es una revisión de basada en evidencia de la literatura de reconstrucción de la ATM para ayudar a determinar cual modalidad de manejo es la más apropiada para manejar condiciones severas de la ATM y lograr metas. Gran cantidad de tejidos autógenos han sido usados para reconstruir la ATM para reganar la forma facial y la función mandibular de con anormalidades del desarrollo, secuelas de tumores, de trauma, defectos de continuidad, condiciones artríticas y anquilosis. Sin embargo la prótesis tipo “Stock” de la ATM resulta ser apropiada y con excelentes resultados y muy costo efectiva.
