Síndrome de Munchausen por poder

RESUMEN

El propósito de este artículo es realizar una revisión e ilustrar con varios casos clínicos el tema del síndrome de Munchausen por poder, un diagnóstico poco común que representa un reto tanto para pediatras como para psiquiatras infantiles. Dado que no existe una presentación clínica típica, se dificulta su diagnóstico, el cual es relevante para la protección del niño involucrado y para garantizar un tratamiento oportuno. Con el fin de ilustrar esta heterogeneidad, se presentan seis casos de síndrome de Munchausen por poder que se han atendido, investigado y seguido en el Hospital Militar Central de Bogotá entre 1993-2008.
