Farmacogenética, farmacogenómica y el anestesiólogo

La práctica de la anestesia ha sido considerada por muchos años un arte y una ciencia, con una variabilidad interpaciente de respuesta a las drogas como la regla más que la excepción.
La farmacogenética es definida como: el estudio de los mecanismos bioquímicos que fundamentan las diferencias individuales en el metabolismo de las drogas, eficacia y efectos colaterales.
