FRAGMENTO

La citología cervicovaginal es un método diagnóstico sencillo y confiable para el estudio de enfermedades de transmisión sexual y detección oportuna de cáncer cervicouterino. Sin embargo, actualmente su objetivo es más amplio, debido a la introducción de técnicas de biología molecular, sobre todo para la detección de lesiones causadas por virus del papiloma humano (VPH) y lesiones intraepiteliales de bajo grado.
