RESUMEN

Introducción: Los tratamientos de las fracturas de cabeza de radio tipo III de Masson son variables y no existe una clara solución. Material y métodos: En este artículo estudiamos la evolución de los pacientes tratados con reemplazo de cabeza de radio en fracturas tipo III de Masson en el Centro Médico del ISSEMyM Ecatepec. Resultados: Se incluyen cuatro pacientes masculinos con una edad promedio de 34.5 años (entre los 28 y 41 años), cuyo mecanismo de lesión fue por contusión indirecta; tres de los codos operados eran izquierdos (75%) y uno codo derecho (25%). El tipo de prótesis que se utilizó fue una prótesis bipolar no cementada. De acuerdo con los criterios de evaluación funcional por Broberg y Morrey, los pacientes tenían una evolución excelente; el tiempo de evolución de los pacientes operados es de 13 meses promedio. Conclusión: Nosotros concluimos que la prótesis de cabeza de radio en fracturas tipo III de Masson es una buena alternativa con la cual se inicia su rehabilitación inmediata a diferencia de otras técnicas quirúrgicas.
