RESUMEN

El síndrome del niño maltratado (SNM) es una forma grave de maltrato infantil consecuencia de violencia doméstica; constituye una entidad pediátrica y médico-legal que se acompaña de daño físico o psicológico inferido a un niño mediante agresiones reiteradas, provocadas por uno o más adultos que están a cargo de la víctima. El conocimiento adecuado de los criterios puede ayudar a su identificación por parte del personal médico.
