Periodontitis asociada a enfermedad sistémica inducida por terapia ortodóncica. Reporte de un caso con síndrome de Turner

RESUMEN

Se presenta el caso de una paciente femenina de 13 años de edad, originaria de León, Guanajuato, con diagnóstico de Síndrome de Turner, la cual acudió a la Facultad de Odontología (FO) de la Universidad La Salle, campus Bajío, debido a que presentaba movilidad dental generalizada con aparatología ortodóncica activada. El tratamiento dental que se propuso fue interdisciplinario, llevado a cabo en varias fases, en las que estuvieron involucradas Odontopediatría, Periodoncia y Ortodoncia, así como la interconsulta con el especialista en Endocrinología para la confirmación del diagnóstico. Se llevaron a cabo tratamientos de tipo preventivo; posteriormente, en el área de Periodontología se realizó el tratamiento periodontal, incluyendo cirugías mucogingivales con injerto de tejido conectivo subepitelial para el aumento de encía queratinizada y de cobertura radicular; finalmente, la paciente fue remitida para retomar el tratamiento ortodóncico.
