RESUMEN

Paciente de 30 años de edad, femenina, mestiza, que presentaba antecedentes patológicos personales de infecciones urinarias a repetición durante la infancia y episodios severos durante sus tres embarazos. Fue vista en consulta externa de urología por un cuadro de dolor lumbar gravativo de varios meses de evolución y es ingresada. El diagnostico definitivo de la paciente fue un megauréter obstructivo congénito teniendo en cuenta los antecedentes y el cuadro clínico de presentación, lo que fue confirmado en el momento operatorio y en el estudio histológico del fragmento de uréter. Se le realizó sección del uréter terminal, ureteroplastía de los 8-10 cm distales del uréter y ureteroneocistostomía por la técnica de Politano Leadbetter. En su evolución post operatoria presentó 2 episodios de infección urinaria con leve sintomatología durante el primer año y urocultivos trimestrales negativos durante el segundo año de seguimiento, con una adecuada recuperación renal y del uréter.
