Señor Editor:

El trabajo de Verdecia y coolaboradores1 sobre el comportamiento de la mortalidad por cáncer bucal en la provincia de Holguín entre 2002 y 2011, refleja un problema creciente de salud, cuyos factores de riesgo son mencionados someramente. En esta carta, se describe el papel de los factores ambientales sobre la aparición y desarrollo de este tipo de neoplasia maligna.
