Fracturas del calcáneo. Tratamiento con fijación externa y reducción abierta

RESUMEN

Las fracturas del calcáneo son relativamente poco frecuentes, pero su repercusión en la vida del paciente puede ser muy limitante. Tanto su poca frecuencia como las características estructurales del hueso, las peculiaridades de las fracturas y la dificultad para lograr la reducción adecuada han determinado que persista la controversia acerca de su correcto tratamiento. Actualmente se consideran tres modalidades de tratamiento: reducción cerrada, reducción abierta y artrodesis sub- astragalina primaria.5,6 Los objetivos del tratamiento son: restaurar la altura, el ancho y la longitud del hueso y reducir las superficies articulares, en aposición con las superficies articulares del astrágalo.
