RESUMEN

El estreñimiento funcional es una patología muy frecuente en la persona adulta mayor, que genera una esfera de problemas biopsicosociales, donde se utilizan indiscriminadamente la terapéutica con laxantes y agentes afines, dejando como manejo secundario las medidas higiénicodietéticas y este trastorno compromete importantemente la calidad de vida.
