Desbridamiento y desinfección periodontal en una sola sesión. Alternativa en el tratamiento no quirúrgico de la Periodontitis: revisión de la bibliografía

RESUMEN

En el tratamiento de la periodontitis crónica se cuenta con la terapia periodontal no quirúrgica que incluye el raspado y alisado radicular por cuadrantes, la cual ha sido avalada científicamente por demostrar su efectividad. Los conceptos de desinfección y desbridamiento de toda la boca son alternativas disponibles para el tratamiento no quirúrgico de esta enfermedad, siendo el objetivo de esta revisión bibliográfica describir y analizar los protocolos de tratamiento clínicamente relevantes disponibles en la bibliografía científica para comparar clínicamente la desinfección de toda la boca con y sin clorhexidina contra el raspaje y alisado radicular convencional por cuadrantes.
