Ameloblastoma uniquístico: Presentación de un caso

RESUMEN

El ameloblastoma uniquístico es una variante del ameloblastoma, que presenta signos clínicos, radiográficos y macroscópicos compatibles con un quiste; pero histológicamente muestra un perfil característico de un ameloblastoma. Sin embargo, a diferencia del ameloblastoma sólido éste se presenta en pacientes más jóvenes y es menos agresivo. El caso descrito era asintomático, asociado a una tercera molar mandibular que mostraba en distal una zona radiolúcida circunscrita, paracoronaria, compatible con espacio folicular; cuyo estudio histológico aclaró el diagnóstico.
