Infecciones respiratorias de repetición como complicación de la enfermedad de Fahr

RESUMEN

Introducción: La calcinosis estrío-pálido-dentada bilateral o enfermedad de Fahr es una patología neurodegenerativa de espectro clínico variado, en el que las manifestaciones de disfunción cerebelosa han sido poco descritas.
Reporte de caso: Se presenta el caso de un adulto joven, con ataxia cerebelosa, infecciones respiratorias de repetición y trastorno de la deglución.
Conclusiones: Las manifestaciones de disfunción cerebelosa interfieren con el mecanismo de la deglución, favoreciendo la recurrencia de neumonías aspirativas.
