El grupo de enfermedades neurodegenerativas tiene enorme importancia médica no sólo por sus devastadoras manifestaciones clínicas y por su frecuencia, sino porque, a pesar del notable esfuerzo en la investigación de los últimos años, su etiología no ha podido dilucidarse plenamente.
