El ultrasonido se ha convertido en una herramienta indispensable para la evaluación del paciente en estado de choque debido a su accesibilidad, versatilidad y disponibilidad, además de ser dinámico y repetible; con obtención de imágenes en tiempo real, de alta resolución y con capacidad de registro. La ultrasonografía aplicada a nuestra práctica diaria se ha distinguido como una excelente herramienta para la práctica médica en diversas áreas, como en quirófanos, las unidades de urgencias médico-quirúrgicas y terapia intensiva.
