RESUMEN

La hidrosadenitis supurativa es una enfermedad cutánea inflamatoria, supurativa y cicatricial de los glándulas apocrinas de los folículos pilosebáceos en la zona de pliegues, con un curso crónico fluctuante con recaídas y reagudizaciones. El manejo de los pacientes que sufren esta afección es el de una enfermedad crónica: tratamientos largos, seguimiento cuidadoso, educación del paciente y soporte psicosocial. El tratamiento es médico y quirúrgico, con base en su estadio clínico y tiempo de evolución. Los recientes avances en el conocimiento de la enfermedad se han acompañado de novedades terapéuticas, como terapias biológicas. Llegando a tener incluso tratamiento de primer o segunda línea.
