Personalidad del médico. ¿Un factor de riesgo?

RESUMEN
Se discute si la personalidad del médico
puede ser determinante de un mal desempeño profesional.
La alerta está dada por varias publicaciones que
en diferentes países señalan la existencia de pequeños
grupos de profesionales responsables del mayor número
de demandas por mala praxis.
Las características de la personalidad en el desempeño
del médico han recibido atención en las últimas
décadas, en las pruebas de admisión, y ofertas laborales.
Se han aplicado diversas técnicas que destacan como
elementos importantes, la inteligencia emocional, escrupulosidad,
el equilibrio emocional, la empatía, y la
resistencia al estrés.
Es un factor que no debe ser subestimado, es la influencia
del medio ambiente sanitario y el currículo oculto
en la formación, y ulterior conducta del profesional.
