RESUMEN

El síndrome de apnea obstructiva del sueño (SAOS) consiste en un trastorno del sueño caracterizado por colapso intermitente (ya sea parcial o completo) de la vía aérea que resulta en episodios frecuentes de apnea e hipopnea. Se ha asociado este trastorno con distintas patologías neurológicas, siendo el evento vascular cerebral, epilepsia, Parkinson y tumores del sistema nervioso central como las más frecuentes.
