RESUMEN

El trasplante pulmonar se ha consolidado como una alternativa real y efectiva en el tratamiento de la enfermedad pulmonar terminal. Esta revisión analiza la secuencia de eventos del trasplante: La evaluación del potencial candidato, el evento quirúrgico, el manejo inmediato postoperatorio y el seguimiento para detectar las complicaciones más importantes como la infección y el rechazo. Además, se discuten resultados fisiológicos de pacientes trasplantados en México.
