Fractura-luxación radiocarpal

RESUMEN

La fractura-luxación radiocarpal es una lesión de alta energía en la muñeca, la cual produce incongruencia articular entre el radio y el carpo. Es frecuente en pacientes jóvenes y generalmente es secundaria a caídas de altura, accidentes automovilísticos o industriales. Su diagnóstico se realiza por medio de estudios radiográficos sencillos, pero requieren de una alta sospecha y conocimientos anatómicos de la región. El tratamiento se basa en lograr una reducción congruente de la articulación radiocarpal, así como un manejo temprano y adecuado de las lesiones óseas y ligamentarias. Su pronóstico para la movilidad postlesión es adecuado, siempre y cuando se pueda restituir la estabilidad articular, ya que en caso contrario, el paciente presentará una artrosis temprana.
