RESUMEN

Las cicatrices hipertróficas y queloides son crecimientos benignos de tejido fibroso, que usualmente se presentan posterior a traumatismo en individuos predispuestos. Su etiología, manifestaciones clínicas y tratamiento son diversos. Una mejor comprensión en la patogénesis de las cicatrices queloides puede ser primordial para optimizar las terapias.
