Actualización del manejo de la enfermedad de Chagas

RESUMEN

La enfermedad de Chagas o la tripanosomiasis americana es un producto de zoonosis de la infección por el protozoo Trypanosoma cruzi. Como su nombre indica, la enfermedad es nativa de América, afecta aproximadamente a 5.7 millones de personas y causa unas 20 mil muertes por año. También es la tercera parasitosis más común, solo superada por la malaria y la shistosoma. La infección dura toda la vida en ausencia de un tratamiento adecuado y temprano.
