RESUMEN

La desnutrición proteico-energética es una complicación usual en la población con trastorno renal, esta se ve asociado de forma importante con la morbi mortalidad de los pacientes, principalmente de aquellos que se encuentran en diálisis. El proceso fisiopatológico es complejo y actúa como un círculo vicioso en esta población. El diagnóstico oportuno, la prevención y el tratamiento generan un impacto positivo en la población nefrópata, tanto en diálisis como en prediálisis.
