Prólogo Las recomendaciones y guías para el tratamiento de la tromboembolia pulmonar (TEP) aguda fueron encomendadas al Capítulo de Circulación Pulmonar por la Mesa Directiva de la Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología 2002-2004, el día 16 de enero del año 2002 y se entregaron en extenso el 16 de diciembre del 2003. Los miembros del Capítulo fueron propuestos por el Coordinador y aceptados por la Mesa Directiva. Para este efecto se congregaron miembros de la Sociedad, expertos y con reconocimiento en el ámbito nacional e internacional en enfermedad tromboembólica venosa pulmonar, (ETVP) hipertensión arterial pulmonar, (HAP) disfunción del ventrículo derecho, (DVD) trombosis, terapia fibrinolítica (TF) y anticoagulación. Todos los miembros del capítulo participaron en la preparación del documento. Estas guías y recomendaciones fueron realizadas en su totalidad por el Capítulo de Circulación Pulmonar de la Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología y la industria farmacéutica no tuvo participación.
