Artefactos en la tomografía de coherencia óptica de dominio espectral en el glaucoma

RESUMEN
La tomografía de coherencia óptica de dominio espectral (SD-OCT) representa un rol integral
en el diagnóstico y tratamiento del glaucoma. La evidencia indica que los artefactos de
imágenes SD-OCT son un hallazgo relativamente común en la práctica clínica, por lo que el
reconocimiento de estos es fundamental para interpretar los datos con precisión, así como
evitar diagnósticos erróneos y conductas terapéuticas equivocadas. La presente revisión
describe, proporciona ejemplos y plantea las posibles causas de los artefactos más comunes, así
como los errores de interpretación más frecuentes, observados con el uso de SD-OCT
Spectralis durante el análisis del nervio óptico.
