RESUMEN

Se revisan aspectos clínicos, fisiopatológicos y de tratamiento del estado epiléptico convulsivo en niños y se plantean los pasos a seguir para su manejo en un servicio de urgencias. Se hacen recomendaciones para el empleo de medicamentos y las alternativas que el pediatra tiene ante la respuesta ineficaz de algún medicamento.
