RESUMEN

Introducción: El I-ITSS es una herramienta para medir costos y la carga de trabajo de enfermería en unidades de cuidados intermedios (UCI), pero no se ha validado en población mexicana.
Objetivo: Validar el sistema de calificación de intervención terapéutica intermedia (I-TISS) en población mexicana.
Diseño: Estudio prolectivo comparativo de cohorte.
Sitio: Unidad de terapia intermedia polivalente de un hospital general privado.
Pacientes: Enfermos adultos hospitalizados en la unidad durante el periodo de estudio.
Intervenciones: Ninguna.
Mediciones y resultados principales: Se capturaron las variables: demográficas e I-TISS por parte de la enfermera tratante y en forma independiente por el médico. Se usó el método de Bland y Altman, para medir concordancia entre dos métodos. Ingresaron al estudio 202 enfermos, (57.9% del género masculino) la edad fue de 58.1 ± 18.1 años. Se realizaron 642 pares de mediciones. El motivo de egreso fue: mejoría 174 (87%), reingreso a la UTI 25 (12.5%) y alta voluntaria 3 (1.5%). El sesgo fue de 0.2 (IC 95% 0.05-0.73) y los límites de concordancia fueron de –8 a 9.0.
Conclusión: Hay una adecuada concordancia entre la medición del I-TISS por parte de enfermería y la medición realizada por médicos, por lo que este modelo puede emplearse en las UCI’s.
