RESUMEN

La inquietud por los procedimientos estéticos en ginecología está incrementando entre las mujeres, quienes acuden a consulta con dudas sobre este tema cada vez más publicitado. Es responsabilidad del médico estar informado sobre las distintas técnicas que existen, con el fin de poder brindar a la paciente la información suficiente y real de las indicaciones y complicaciones de estos procedimientos. Es de esta aseveración que partimos para realizar una revisión de los principales procedimientos estéticos en ginecología como son la labioplastia, el rejuvenecimiento vaginal, la himenoplastia, la ampliación del punto G y la reducción de la piel en el capuchón del clítoris. Hoy por hoy, un número cada vez mayor de ginecólogos ha empezado a ofrecer estos procedimientos como parte de su práctica, dependerá de su responsabilidad moral y profesional el mantener esta nueva práctica dentro de los límites de lo médicamente correcto.
