ABSTRACT

Transrectal ultrasound of prostate and needle biopsy was done for the diagnosis of prostatic cancer during a period of 6 years. One hundred and fifty procedures were done. Fifty patients had prostatic cancer in the pathologic study, 68 patients had HPB, 31 patients had prostatitis and 1 patient had epidermoide metaplasia. No one had serous complications.
