ABSTRACT

Snake bites are prevalent in Costa Rica. While hemorrhagic complications are common after snake bites of the genus Bothrops sp., intracerebral hemorrhage is infrequent and carries serious neurological sequelae, especially if its diagnosis and treatment are delayed. We present a case report of a patient who developed an spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage in the posterior fossa associated with coagulopathy after a snake bite.
